Two hijacked American planes dive-bombed the twin skyscrapers of the World Trade Center. Almost at the same hour the third plane flew against part of the Pentagon in Washington D.C. The fourth plane crashed onto the ground in Pennsylvania, killing all aboard including the hijackers themselves. The U.S. defined this as terrorism and war against America, spotting Osama bin Laden as the prime suspect.
